Determining the best "sequence" to teach the letters of the alphabet can seem overwhelming, as there is an abundance of variations! I have found the most logical, straightforward and simple sequence includes: starter consonants, ender consonants, 2-sound consonants, remaining consonants, and vowels. I have provided this sequence alongside my TPT Reading-Phonics Weekly Scope & Sequence, which you can check out at: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Kindergarten-Reading-Phonics-Weekly-Scope-Sequence-7316072
Here are the LETTER SEQUENCE details:
Starter Consonants: b, t, d, j, k, p, v, z
Ender Consonants: f, l, m, n, r, s, x
2-Sound Consonants: c, g
Remaining Consonants: h, q, w, y
Vowels: a, e, i, o, u (sometimes y)
Of course, there will be numerous daily opportunities to introduce (other) letters along the way, but utilizing a particular sequence certainly makes planning, teaching, and learning more consistent and achievable!
*You may also consider introducing letters with "continuous letter sounds" or "stop letter sounds" in a particular sequence as well:
Continuous Letter Sounds: f, m, s, l, n, r, v, w, z
Stop Letter Sounds: b, c, d, g, h, j, k, p, t
